In January 1952, with an intake of 400 boys, who constituted the overflow from the Royal Preparatory School, Greenlands College was established and then Greenlands College had been renamed as Isipathana College. With the main objective of developing the soft skills and the critical thinking of students and to provide a great platform to enhance and showcase the talents, Inventors' Association of Isipathana College was established as a practical education based society under clubs and societies of Isipathana College.

Inventors' Association is a distinguished society for Young Inventors in Isipathana Colllege which was found in 2019 under the guidance of Ms. Chathuri Geeganage (Past Asst. Principal - Society - Co-curricular), Ms. Maheshika Niriella (Present Teacher-In-Charge) and Ms. Ayoma Priyangani (Present Teacher-In-Charge). The association was officially established on 15th October, 2019 with necessary legal registrations and with office bearers. Our foremost aim is to make inventors with imagination, creativity to achieve challenges in a complex and competitive, market oriented, profit motivated and knowledge based society thorough this association. It has selected the Latin word "NOVICIA" which means "Thinking About Something Newly", as their brand name of all events conducted by Inventors' Association of Isipathana College. The first event (Opening Workshop conducted by Junior Old Boys' Association) was held on 20th of October 2019 marking the golden journey of the innovation. Inventors' Association has a strong commitment towards Invention and Innovation Field and we supply all facilities to our members with the practical and theoretical knowledge. As an important consequence of this Inventors' Association of Isipathana College has won national level competitions. At first, Inventors' Association opened for students in Isipathana College but now it has been providing services for island wide students.

Inventors' Association of Isipathana College today is an exquisite practical education based school society among Sri Lankan Government and Private Schools that offers education with imagination to island-wide students accomplishing the undiminished national responsibility of innovation to make a better future.
